Judge James Render Terrell, Sr. was born on August 10, 1868 to Dr. Joel Edward Green Terrell and Sara Rebecca Anthony in Greenville, Meriwether County, Georgia. He was the brother of Georgia Governor and Senator Joseph M. Terrell. Judge Terrell graduated from Mercer University in 1888 and was admitted to the state bar the following year, practicing law with his brother. He served in the State Senate from 1898 to 1899, when he served as President Pro Tempore, and again from 1929 to 1...
